Questions

Men's health questions, answered straight.

These are questions men ask Clear Men's Health, a physician-led clinic in Tampa that also sees men across Florida by telehealth, about testosterone, weight management, sexual health, labs and payment. The answers are general information, not medical advice: treatment decisions are made only after an individual evaluation, and telehealth visits require you to be physically in Florida.

How does care at Clear Men's Health work?

What is a men's health clinic?

A practice focused on men's hormone health, weight and sexual health. Clear Men's Health is physician-led, with an office in Tampa and telehealth consults across Florida; care starts with an evaluation and lab work, and treatment follows only when it is indicated.

How is Clear Men's Health different from other men's clinics?

Most clinics sell treatment. We start with diagnosis. Before any prescription is even discussed, you get comprehensive lab work and a clinician who walks you through what every number means — in plain language.

Can I stop treatment once I've started?

Yes. Ending treatment is a medical decision too, made with your clinician. And if treatment stops being right for you, we say so and change course. Ongoing care means exactly that.

Which blood tests are part of the evaluation?

It depends on why you came in. For testosterone, two early-morning measurements on different days; for weight, metabolic labs such as glucose or A1c, lipids, and kidney and liver markers; for ED, labs your history points to, such as glucose, lipids and a morning testosterone level.

Are your clinicians licensed in Florida?

Yes. Telehealth is available to patients who are physically located in Florida, and the clinicians providing that care hold active Florida licenses. Care is directed by Jason Saylor, DO, our Medical Director: Board-certified in Family Medicine; Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine; Licensed physician, State of Florida.

Does the consultation form ask about my symptoms or medications?

No. The form asks how to reach you, what we can help with and how you'd like to be seen. Its optional message box asks you not to include diagnoses, lab results or medication details; those are discussed privately with your clinician.

Who can be seen at Clear Men's Health?

Adults 18 and older who are in Florida. Care here focuses on men's hormone health, medical weight management and sexual health.

Care here is available two ways: in person at our Tampa office, or by telehealth. Consultations and follow-up visits can be either — whichever suits you.

Blood draws and any hands-on examination are done in person, because they cannot be done any other way.

Telehealth visits require you to be physically located in Florida at the time of the visit.

What should I know before testosterone therapy?

Testosterone therapy in Tampa

What are the signs of low testosterone?

Commonly reported signs include fatigue, reduced sex drive, erectile difficulties, loss of muscle, increased body fat, and low mood. Every one of these is nonspecific — which is exactly why diagnosis requires lab confirmation, not a symptom checklist.

How is low testosterone actually diagnosed?

Per major guidelines: consistent symptoms plus low testosterone measured on two separate early-morning blood draws. One reading is not enough, and symptoms alone are not enough.

Will TRT affect my fertility?

It can. Testosterone therapy commonly suppresses sperm production. If children are in your plans — now or possibly later — tell your clinician before starting. Alternatives and timing strategies exist, and this conversation is a standard part of our evaluation.

Is TRT safe long-term?

TRT has known risks that are managed through monitoring — hematocrit, prostate health, symptoms — and open questions that we discuss honestly. Ongoing labs and follow-ups are a required part of treatment here, not an optional extra.

Do you prescribe testosterone at the first visit?

No prescription is guaranteed at any visit. Treatment is offered only after laboratory-confirmed diagnosis, contraindication review, and a shared decision with your clinician.

TRT consults by Florida telehealth

Do I have to be in Florida for a telehealth visit?

Yes. Telehealth visits require you to be physically located in Florida at the time of the visit. Your location is confirmed at the start of every telehealth visit. If you are not in Florida, the visit does not go ahead.

Who can use telehealth for TRT consults?

Adults 18 and older who are physically in Florida at the time of each visit. Consults and follow-ups can be by telehealth; blood draws happen in person at a draw site near you.

Do I need to come to the Tampa office?

Not for consults or follow-ups, which can be by telehealth anywhere in Florida, and blood draws happen at a draw site near you. If any part of your care has to be in person, such as a hands-on exam, your clinician tells you what and why before anything is booked. If you live in the Tampa Bay area, you can choose to be seen at the office for any visit.

Can I get my blood drawn near home?

Yes. Your lab order goes to a draw site near you, anywhere in Florida. Low testosterone is confirmed with two early-morning draws on different days, because a single reading can mislead.

What if my levels come back normal?

Then you have a real answer. Additional labs as indicated can help rule out other causes of your symptoms, and your clinician explains what else could be behind your symptoms and what to do next. A prescription is never assumed, never promised, and never the goal of the visit.

Does a telehealth visit guarantee treatment?

No. A telehealth visit never guarantees a prescription, any more than an office visit does. Treatment is offered only after a lab-confirmed diagnosis, a safety review and a shared decision with your clinician.

How does medical weight management work?

Are GLP-1 medications FDA-approved?

Specific semaglutide and tirzepatide products are FDA-approved for chronic weight management or type 2 diabetes in defined patient populations. Compounded versions of these drugs are not FDA-approved, and we do not present them as equivalent to approved products.

Will I lose muscle while losing weight?

It's a real risk with any significant weight loss — including with GLP-1 medications. That's why adequate protein and resistance training are built into every plan, and why we track strength alongside the scale.

How much weight will I lose?

No honest clinic can promise you a number. Results vary by person, plan, and adherence. We commit to a real evaluation, an evidence-based plan, and close follow-up — not a guaranteed figure.

What are the side effects of GLP-1 medications?

Nausea and gastrointestinal issues are the most common, especially early. There are also rare but serious risks that make these medications inappropriate for some men. Your clinician reviews all of this with you before any prescription decision.

Do I have to take medication?

No. Medication is one tool, considered only when appropriate after evaluation. Many plans are built on nutrition, training, and metabolic factors alone — and the decision is always made with you, not for you.

Weight management consults by Florida telehealth

Do I need to come to Tampa for a weight management plan?

No. Consultations and follow-ups can be by telehealth anywhere in Florida while you are physically in the state, and any lab work is drawn at a draw site near you. Tampa Bay patients can also come to the office.

Are compounded GLP-1 products the same as FDA-approved ones?

No. A compounded GLP-1 is not FDA-approved and is not a generic version of an approved product: the FDA does not verify the safety, effectiveness or quality of compounded drugs before they are marketed.

What does a weight management plan include?

An evaluation and any lab work it calls for, a nutrition and resistance-training plan built around your life, scheduled follow-ups by telehealth or in the office, and medication only if your evaluation shows it is appropriate.

What does the first weight management consult cover?

Your health and medication history, sleep, stress and what you have tried before, and which labs, if any, are worth ordering. Nothing is prescribed by default.

What if I have type 2 diabetes or take other medications?

Tell your clinician at the evaluation. Your full medication list and history are reviewed before any plan is set, because some medications affect weight or interact with treatment, and some conditions rule out specific medications.

Is there a maintenance plan?

Yes. Maintenance is its own phase with its own plan. Follow-ups continue, by telehealth or in the office, and the plan is adjusted as your labs and progress change.

How is erectile dysfunction evaluated and treated?

Men's sexual health in Tampa

Is ED just part of getting older?

It becomes more common with age, but it isn't inevitable — and it's often treatable. Because it can signal cardiovascular or metabolic issues, it's worth evaluating rather than accepting.

Do I have to describe everything in detail?

Your clinician guides the conversation respectfully and you control the pace. Our website forms never ask for intimate details — that conversation happens privately with your clinician, whether you come into the office or meet by telehealth.

Are ED medications safe?

FDA-approved options exist and are safe for many men — but not all. They are dangerous in combination with certain medications, especially nitrates. That's why screening comes before any prescription here.

Can low testosterone cause ED or low libido?

It can contribute to both, which is why hormone testing is part of the evaluation where indicated. But it's rarely the whole story — treating testosterone alone doesn't fix every case.

Will anyone find out I came here?

Your care is confidential. Scheduling and communications are discreet, and nothing you share is used for marketing — ever.

ED consults by Florida telehealth

Do I need an in-person exam for ED treatment?

Consults and follow-ups can be by telehealth anywhere in Florida. If your clinician needs a hands-on exam, it happens in person, and you are told what and why before anything is booked; any labs are drawn at a draw site near you.

Can I take ED medication if I use nitrates?

No. PDE5 inhibitors must never be combined with nitrate medicines such as nitroglycerin, or with recreational "poppers", because together they can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure. Tell your clinician about every medication you take, including ones used only as needed.

Will you check my testosterone level?

Yes, when your history calls for it. Low testosterone can contribute to erectile difficulties and low libido, so a morning testosterone level is checked when your evaluation points to it. It is rarely the whole story on its own.

What if ED medication hasn't worked for me before?

Then the evaluation matters even more. Your clinician looks at what was tried, how it was taken, and what else may be contributing, from blood vessels and hormones to sleep, stress and other medications, before discussing options.

Can I be seen by telehealth if I live outside Tampa Bay?

Yes, anywhere in Florida. Telehealth visits require you to be physically located in Florida at the time of the visit. Men in the Tampa Bay area can also choose a private visit at the office.

Which labs are checked for ED?

Only labs that add real information, chosen from your history: for example glucose or A1c, lipids, and a morning testosterone level. Any draw is done in person, at a draw site near you.

How do visits, telehealth and payment work?

Clear Men's Health

Do I need lab tests before any treatment?

Yes — always. No prescription is considered before a comprehensive lab evaluation and a clinical review of your history. Symptoms alone are never enough for a diagnosis here.

Can I get a prescription at my first visit?

There is no guarantee of a prescription — ever. Treatment is offered only after a clinician confirms a diagnosis, reviews contraindications, and determines it is appropriate for you specifically.

Do you guarantee results?

No — and it's worth being skeptical of any clinic that does. Individual outcomes vary. What we commit to is honest evaluation, evidence-based care, and close monitoring for as long as you're a patient.

Is this confidential?

Yes. Consultations are private whether they happen in the office or by telehealth, scheduling is discreet, and our marketing forms never ask for diagnoses, lab results, medication history, or intimate details.

Do you take insurance?

No. We are a cash-pay practice and do not bill insurance or participate in any plan network. You receive the cost of your treatment plan in writing before you agree to it, so there is never a surprise bill.

Can I be seen by telehealth, or do I have to come in?

Both are available — it is your choice. Consultations and follow-up visits can happen in person at our Tampa office or by telehealth, and you can switch between them as you go. Telehealth visits require you to be physically located in Florida at the time of the visit. Blood draws and any hands-on examination are done in person, because they cannot be done any other way.

Where are you located?

Our office is at 3971 Moran Rd, Suite 101, Tampa, FL 33618, and you can reach us at (656) 269-4567. We are Tampa-first, serving men across the Tampa Bay area in person — and we also see patients across Florida by telehealth.

Which services does the clinic offer?

Do you see men from Brandon, St. Petersburg and Clearwater?

Yes. The Tampa office serves men across the Tampa Bay area, including Brandon, St. Petersburg and Clearwater. Elsewhere in Florida, consultations and follow-ups can be by telehealth. Telehealth visits require you to be physically located in Florida at the time of the visit.

Who will I see?

A licensed Florida clinician. Care here is directed by our Medical Director, Jason Saylor, DO, who sets the treatment protocols and holds responsibility for prescribing and monitoring.

How do I book a first visit?

Call the clinic during office hours, or send a consultation request and our team will reach out to schedule. You choose in person or telehealth on the form.

Are blood draws done at the office?

Yes, if you come to the office. If you are seen by telehealth, the draw is still in person: at the office or at a draw site near you in Florida.

Is telehealth for emergencies?
