Weight management consults by Florida telehealth
Medical weight loss consults anywhere in Florida. Evaluation first.
Medical weight loss is a physician-supervised plan built on an evaluation, lab work, nutrition and resistance training, with medication considered only when your evaluation shows it is appropriate. Clear Men's Health, a physician-led Tampa clinic, offers these consults and follow-ups by telehealth anywhere in Florida while you are physically in the state, with any lab work drawn at a draw site near you.

The evaluation
How does a medical weight loss program work with telehealth consults?
It starts with an evaluation, not a prescription. Consultations and follow-ups can happen by telehealth from anywhere in Florida while you are physically in the state, and any lab work is drawn in person at a draw site near you.
The evaluation maps what is pushing on your weight: your history, current medications, sleep and stress, targeted labs, and what you have already tried. The plan is then built around your life, not a template.
- Full health and medication history
- Metabolic lab work as indicated
- Sleep, stress, and lifestyle review
- Goals set around strength and health — not just a number
Lab work
What labs are needed before a weight management plan?
It depends on your history. Your clinician orders what your evaluation calls for, drawn in person at a draw site near you, and goes over the results with you before any plan is set.
- Baseline metabolic labs as indicated (for example glucose/A1c, lipids, kidney and liver markers)
- Review of current medications that affect weight or interact with treatment
GLP-1 medications
How do FDA-approved and compounded GLP-1s differ?
Specific semaglutide and tirzepatide products are FDA-approved for defined uses, and for some men they are a legitimate tool. They also come with real side effects — nausea and GI issues are common early on — and rare but serious risks your clinician will review with you. They require screening, they require monitoring, and they are not right for everyone.
Two things we will never do: promise you a specific amount of weight loss, and blur the line between FDA-approved products and compounded versions. Compounded GLP-1 products are not FDA-approved, and we do not present them as equivalent — the FDA itself has raised concerns about them. If medication is part of your plan, you'll know exactly what it is, why, and what the evidence says.
Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved: the FDA does not verify their safety, effectiveness or quality before they are marketed, and a compounded drug is not a generic version of an approved product.
- Approved medications explained by name, indication, and evidence
- Side effects and serious risks reviewed before you decide
- Compounded products are not FDA-approved and not treated as equivalent
- No guaranteed amount, rate, or timeline of weight loss — ever
Who it's for
Who is a candidate for medical weight management?
Men who want a medical plan for their weight, built on an evaluation rather than a template. Weight-loss medication is an option only for men who meet the criteria in its FDA labeling and Florida's prescribing standards, which are based on body mass index (BMI) and weight-related health conditions, and the decision is made with you.
Weight-management medications are not appropriate for everyone — certain personal or family medical histories, pregnancy, and specific conditions rule out specific medications. Your clinician reviews this before any prescription.
Nutrition & strength
How do you protect muscle while losing weight?
With enough protein, food you can actually live with, and resistance training that protects muscle and strength while the weight comes off. The plan is built for your worst week, not just your best one.
- Protein-forward nutrition built around foods you actually eat
- Resistance training to protect muscle and strength
- Habits designed for sustainability, not a 30-day stunt
Expectations
How often are weight management follow-ups?
On a schedule set in your plan. If your plan includes a weight-loss medication, you are re-evaluated at least every three months. Follow-ups can be by telehealth or in the office, and repeat labs are ordered as your plan calls for them.
Progress is tracked by more than the scale: strength, energy, labs and how you feel day to day, with the plan adjusted when the data says adjust.
- Scheduled follow-ups — in person or by telehealth — to review progress, side effects, and adherence
- Repeat labs as indicated by the treatment plan
- Body-composition and strength focus alongside scale weight
What has to happen in person for a weight plan?
Care here is available two ways: in person at our Tampa office, or by telehealth. Consultations and follow-up visits can be either — whichever suits you.
Blood draws and any hands-on examination are done in person, because they cannot be done any other way.
Telehealth visits require you to be physically located in Florida at the time of the visit.
Questions
Questions about weight management
Do I need to come to Tampa for a weight management plan?
No. Consultations and follow-ups can be by telehealth anywhere in Florida while you are physically in the state, and any lab work is drawn at a draw site near you. Tampa Bay patients can also come to the office.
Are compounded GLP-1 products the same as FDA-approved ones?
No. A compounded GLP-1 is not FDA-approved and is not a generic version of an approved product: the FDA does not verify the safety, effectiveness or quality of compounded drugs before they are marketed.
What does a weight management plan include?
An evaluation and any lab work it calls for, a nutrition and resistance-training plan built around your life, scheduled follow-ups by telehealth or in the office, and medication only if your evaluation shows it is appropriate.
What does the first weight management consult cover?
Your health and medication history, sleep, stress and what you have tried before, and which labs, if any, are worth ordering. Nothing is prescribed by default.
What if I have type 2 diabetes or take other medications?
Tell your clinician at the evaluation. Your full medication list and history are reviewed before any plan is set, because some medications affect weight or interact with treatment, and some conditions rule out specific medications.
Is there a maintenance plan?
Yes. Maintenance is its own phase with its own plan. Follow-ups continue, by telehealth or in the office, and the plan is adjusted as your labs and progress change.
